Two Bit Hack: Part 2

Pray For Peace

Pray for peace. And while you're at it pray for gasoline to return to .19 cents per gallon and .15 cent McDonalds' Cheeseburgers to come back around if that's what you're into. Pray all you like, it ain't going to happen, not now, not ever.

Veggie Head Stalker knew it. What do you think the The Who were singing about when they sang, We Won't Be Fooled Again-- peace? Hardly.

"We'll be fighting in the streets
With our children at our feet
And the morals that they worship will be gone
And the men who spurred us on
Sit in judgment of all wrong
They decide and the shotgun sings the song..."

For decades I thought it was a war protest song. It wasn't. What it was, was a simple statement of fact, reality, the way it was, the way it is, the way it will always be.

"...And the parting on the left
Is now the parting on the right..."

It took me a lot of years but I finally figured it out.

"Then I'll get on my knees and pray
We don't get fooled again
Don't get fooled again
No, no!

YAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH!

Meet the new boss
Same as the old boss"

Nothing changes, everything stays the same. As much as we hate war, humanity has yet to figure out a means to survive without war. You see, while animals survive by eating one another, humanity, being at the top of the food chain with no predators to keep our numbers in check, substitutes the need to eat other humans by simply waging war. And when we're not waging war on people we wage war on economic markets. Thus, the reason the most successful economic markets in the world are built upon the war machines, monopolies and the corruption they entail.

Of course my friend Veggie knew it all too well. As a hybrid being he was able to grasp concepts long before most humans could grasp them. But he wasn't the only one.  As early as 1968, Joseph Wechsberg, himself a merchant banker, had published a book titled, The Merchant Bankers, that explained how those in power worked both sides of every war. And while the merchant bankers are gone the modern day multinational corporations and Banksters continue to do the very same things the merchant bankers did on a much larger and deadlier scale.

One reason praying isn't going to help is because your churches and religious institutions depend on the system to stay afloat. Believe in God all you like but belief in religion-- any religion-- is a very large part of what brought us to the state of perpetual war in the first place.

When Veggie went to war against Monsanto and the others, he knew it had to be done. As one of their experiments he knew things no one else knew, weaknesses no one else knew they had. And unbeknownst to the world he set them back almost 30 years all on his own. Yeah, I picked up a machete a couple of times but that was only when Veggie was about to become tossed salad or fried greens. Most of the time I just wrote it all down thinking the story of how 1 green dude saved the world would surely make me a best selling author.

Problem was: someone didn't want The Adventures Of The Vegetable Stalker to ever be told and even now that Veggie Head Stalker is long gone, composted and bringing life to new crops, they still needed to keep me quiet.
